Not even 2.5 years, AP ministers tenure to end anytime

Going against the traditional tenure of five years to the ministers, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has introduced a concept of 2.5 years tenure, so as to provide a chance to more number of people, to be part of the government.

While reducing the tenure to half itself is worrying a few in the YSRCP, now Jagan has come up with one more sensational decision. The young CM strictly ordered the ministers to stay away from the corruption and also warned that they would lose their ministry, if at all they were found attempting any such.

These warnings are now troubling the ministers who recently got inducted into the Jagan’s cabinet. If at all the opposition parties target any minister and reveal the corrupt activities in the government projects, the concerned minister is handling, then the credit of removing the post of such minister, would go into the hands of the opposition parties and may worsen the position of both the minister and YSRCP.

On the flip side, Jagan also promised to offer sops to the ministers, who fight against the corruption. He instructed the officials to be in frequent contact with the ministers and take the decision only after checking with the concerned minister. He also advised to put the day-to-day progress of ministerial works on the concerned websites, so that the government assures transparency to the public and improves confidence on the government.

The kind of ruling Jagan is coming up with, is not only impressing public and senior politicians, but also a few of the opposition leaders. If at all Jagan continues with the similar speed, there is an every chance for him to retain the government in 2024. But on the flip side, a few also say that the utter strict ruling of this kind, may also put him in trouble from the leaders of his own party.
