The dictatorship and the situation of people in North Korea are very familiar to the people of the outer world. Recently, the President of North Korea Kim Jong Un called a South Korean music K-Pop band a ‘vicious caner’ and banned K-Pop music in North Korea. However, the President admitted that North Korea is facing a food crisis. A packet of black tea costs Rs 5000, a packet of coffee costs Rs 7,000 and a kilo of bananas(about 7 bananas) costs over Rs 3,000($45).
The prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed in the North Korean capital Pyongyang. North Korea seems to be facing food shortage due to the border restrictions and the crop damage due to the flood in the country. Analysts believe that the covid restrictions, on the other hand, are having a serious impact on North Korea’s food products.
