Avasarala Srinivas’s Nootokka Jillala Andagadu hit the silver screens today. Here is our review of the comedy caper.
Story:
GSN (Srinivas) suffers from male pattern baldness. He falls in love with his colleague Anjali (Ruhani) and she too reciprocates similar feelings. But the real conflict starts after Anjali finds out that GSN is bald and finds it hard to come to terms with it. The succeeding events form the remaining story.
What about on-screen performances?
Avasarala Srinivas plays an atypical role and he is in his elements. His portrayal of a bald lad is authentic. Ruhani looks gorgeous. She delivers an okayish performance. The rest of the support cast deliver what is expected of them.
What about off-screen talents?
The director Rachakonda Vidyasagar built on the story and screenplay provided by Avasarala Srinivas. However, his direction is sub-par. A few penultimate sequences are underwhelming, owing to poor presentation. The background score is adequate and so are the songs. The cinematography is impressive.
What’s Hot?
What’s Not?
Verdict: 101 Jillala Andagadu is essentially a comedy caper that also has an emotional track to back up the protagonist’s baldness tale. But the film doesn’t excel in both counts. The comedy track is just about adequate. The emotional connect should have been more impactful. The film is a mixed bag.
