No need to use a mask for children under 5 years: WHO

The entire country is currently making all the necessary arrangements to fight the third wave of the coronavirus which is going to affect especially children. The third wave of the corona might hit India in September-October this year. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has announced that there is no need for children under the age of 5 years to wear a mask.

The DGHS announced this based on the recommendations made by the World Health Organization. DGHS said that children between the ages of six and 11 must wear face masks. DGHS said that children of that age are at risk of respiratory problems if they wear unclean masks frequently. It made clear that adults around them should wear a mask. Also, it advised doctors not to use steroids unnecessarily unless the corona effect is severe.
