During the “Padayatra”, YS Jagan promised the state of Andhra Pradesh that if YSRC comes to power, the party will ban the liquor in the state. Looks like YSRC is making its first step on this promise. From October 1st, around 3500 liquor shops will be under control of AP government.
Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Ltd (APSBCL) had already annexed 475 liquor shops for the month of September and the target is 3500 for the next month. Eventually, the AP government will take over all the liquor outlets and will appoint staff to maintain them with rules and regulations. Police officials too will be hired to help the staff with the maintenance. Shops will be closed strictly after 9PM. The government is planning to reduce the addiction of alcohol among the people and the hospitals will have a special ward for treating the people who are addicted to alcohol.
YSRC government fired on the TDP party for making people addicted to alcohol by raising the number of belt shops and selling alcohol without following any rules or regulations. Cases were registered on several illegal belt shops and the people running them.
