Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar after facing a very tough period in the past few months was reinstated as the Election Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh on July 30th by the Government following a Supreme Court order. When everything is getting in order another controversy landed in front of him only to frustrate this retired IAS officer.
Yesterday, a notification has been doing rounds in the media circles stating that this is the schedule for local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. It went viral in no time baffling Nimmagadda Ramesh who immediately responded on the issue and cried foul. He described the trending schedule as a fake one.
However, the fake schedule quoted Nimmagadda as saying that the election code comes into force immediately. Now Ramesh Kumar being fed up with these mischievous deeds wants to take this issue to the respective authorities and has decided to file a complaint against the responsible for this spread of fake news.
“It has been brought to the notice of Commission that a schedule of elections is supposedly released by Commission & social media reports are circulated. The Commission denies the above,” Nimmagadda said. “It is part of a disinformation campaign and no more,” he added.
He wants to take action against the perpetrators all by himself as well as to increase the intensity in the issue he wants to approach the cybercrime department to report the alleged social media posts that circulated this fake election schedule.
