Viswabhooshan Harichandan, a senior politician of Orissa, has been appointed as the new governor of Andhra Pradesh.
ESL Narasimhan has been acting as the governor of both the Telugu states- Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, since 2009. But as none of the AP government activities are being performed in Hyderabad or any part of Telangana state, BJP felt that it is not fair to have the same governor for both the states.
So it then came up with a proposal of having separate governors and considered earlier, a few big names like Sushma Swaraj, Kiran Bedi etc. but it finally settled down for Viswabhooshan. He worked as a minister earlier and was also successful as an MLA, who got elected for five terms.

Meanwhile, Narasimhan will continue as the governor of Telangana for now. But the Centre is planning to replace him with a suitable person, as he was in the position for about 10 years already. So right after BJP finds an appropriate person, Narasimhan will have to leave the position and occupy any other position as directed by the BJP’s government.
