Natural star Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy is all set to release worldwide tomorrow (December 24). Ahead of the release, the MCA actor has raised concerns over the movie ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh.
Nani, as a part of promotions, interacted with the media and expressed his displeasure over ticket prices running. He said that grocery shop collections are currently higher in Andhra Pradesh than movie hall collections.
When asked about the ticket prices during a press meet, he stated that the new prices are an insult to the audience. He said, “I have been seeing the new ticket prices in theatres across AP. I assume the kirana store next to the theatre is making more money than a theatre owner right now. It’s nothing but an insult to the audience to tell them they can’t afford a movie ticket. Irrespective of any political beliefs, I hope the issue is resolved soon.”
The actor also added that the audience can afford to pay for the increased ticket prices. However, Nani’s latest comments have taken precedence. While his film is being released on December 24, tough conditions are prevailing in the state. The officials are seizing several theatres that do not meet the standards. It remains to be seen how the film industry, as well as the AP government, responds to Nani’s remarks.
