On behalf of the Telugu film industry, Megastar Chiranjeevi thanked the Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy for taking a great approach to approve recommencing of films in Andhra Pradesh. Megastar Chiranjeevi said all the Tollywood celebrities waited year long to meet Jagan but could not. “Finally we met today,” he stated on Tuesday.
Many senior members of the Telugu film industry like Nagarjuna, C. Kalyan, Damodar, Suresh Babu, Dil raju etc were among few, who met Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the CM camp office in Tadepalli on Tuesday.
The issue was brought to the attention of the Telangana government and CM KCR has permitted the film shoots from the 15th of this month. Speaking on the occasion, the actor stated, “We are having trouble with the shooting of the film due to the corona lockdown. It is a pleasure to get permission from Jagan to shoot in Andhra Pradesh too.”
Perni Nani, who is the minister of tranpsort and I&PR for AP assured a meet with officials to formulate a structured mechanism for the shooting as per covid-19 norms. Chiru also thanked CM Jagan for responding positively about the issue of ‘excluding the burdensome prices charged by theatres.’
Distribution of Nandi Awards was halted for almost 5 years. Awards for 2019–20 are set to be given as the film fraternity seek encouragement from the government. It was reported that the Nandi award ceremony is expected to take place later this year.
The members have also appealed to focus on the Flexi pricing for ticket pricing. Ticket prices have been increasing in cities like Chennai and Mumbai depending on the respective cinema. The concern was raised to benifit massive budget producers and the CM has reportedly assured to make a fair decision on rates too.
