Bangalore police have increased the pace in their investigation in the drug case. Bangalore East Zone DCP Sharanappa told that they would not rush into the investigation under any circumstances and that they were gathering other technical evidence besides the testimony.
So far, nine people have been arrested in the case, including Mastanchandra, Shankar Gowda, Sandeep Reddy, a Hyderabad-based real estate tycoon from the Kannada film industry, and a Telugu hero. However, police believed that this alone is not enough and that the case would be strengthened if some technical evidence could be gathered that the MLAs were in Bangalore at the time. The Bangalore police have asked the cellphone networking companies to provide suspects’ phone locations at that time.
DCP refused to reveal the names of the Telangana legislators. He explained that notices would be issued to the suspects only after gathering some technical evidence.
