Telugu Desam Party chief and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, was aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2014 elections, and this alliance greatly benefited both the parties, at the national and state levels as well. Ahead of the 2019 elections, however, Naidu chose to ally with the Indian National Congress, which didn’t go well for the TDP at all.
There have been several speculations regarding why Naidu chose the INC over the BJP, and now Naidu has stated why, himself. In a recent interview, Naidu said that the main reason that he chose to not be allied with the BJP in 2019 anymore was because the BJP didn’t complete the bifurcation process properly.
Naidu went on to say that he has no issues with being associated with the BJP once again, if it means a better future for the country and the state. With Naidu now openly professing that he wouldn’t mind to be associated with the BJP, it is to be seen what the BJP’s stand would be.
