Elon Musk, who is bringing many changes to Twitter, has recently made another key decision. It has been announced that amnesty will be given to the accounts that were previously suspended due to various reasons. It has been revealed on the micro-blogging site that the process of restoring those accounts will start next week.
When the Tesla CEO conducted a poll on the amnesty for suspended accounts on Twitter, nearly 31.6 lakh people took part in it. About 72.4 per cent voted in favour and 27.6 per cent opposed. With the majority saying yes to the amnesty, Musk is now ready to restore those accounts.
“The people have spoken. Amnesty begins next week,” Musk tweeted, responding to the poll. “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” he added.
It is known that Twitter has suspended the accounts of many people in the past due to hateful posts or the spreading of fake information. Many celebrities, including former US President Donald Trump, have been suspended from the platform over the years.
