Nani’s slick action thriller ‘V’ is releasing directly on Amazon Prime this Saturday, September 5th and it is the first mainstream Telugu mid-range film to get a direct OTT release.
Interestingly enough, Mohankrishna Indraganti, the director of ‘V’ said that he and Nani were against OTT release.
“Nani and I requested Dil Raju garu to wait till theaters re-opened and not to release the film on OTT platforms. He patiently waited till now, but the chances of theaters re-opening anytime soon looked bleak so we could not urge him further. He is happy to release the film on OTT,” Mohankrishna Indraganti said.
The acclaimed filmmaker went on to say that he tested the final print of ‘V’ on mobile screens, TVs, and home theaters and is satisfied with the output.
Speaking the reason why Thaman was roped in, Mohankrishna said, ” Amit Trivedi was supposed to score the background music, but he cited other commitments and opted out. Then we approached Thaman, who scored a blockbuster with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and he came on board thankfully. We used Dolby Atmos technology for the film.”
