The Telangana Congress party has lost another key player, with the resignation of MLA Komati Reddy Rajagopal Reddy, representing the Munugodu Assembly constituency of Nalgonda district. He gave in the resignation of his MLA seat today and is said to be heading towards joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, although an official announcement is still awaited.
Not all has been well between the Komati Reddy brothers and Telangana PCC chief Revanth Reddy ever since Revanth Reddy was appointed as the TPCC chief. Despite being key players in Nalgonda politics for more than a decade, the high command of the Congress party has paid a deaf ear to the Komati Reddy brothers, resulting in Komati Reddy’s resignation. Rajagopal Reddy’s brother, Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy, is currently a member of the Lok Sabha, representing the Bhongir constituency, which was earlier represented by Rajagopal Reddy.
Rajagopal Reddy said that the Congress party in Telangana has become very weak and incapable of going against the TRS, which has destroyed the state of Telangana. While he is said to have held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah last week regarding joining the BJP, sources say that there were some differences between the two leaders, due to which there’s still no clarity over whether or not Rajagopal Reddy will join the BJP or not, and if he will, when he will be joining the party.
