Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has sparked controversy after passing sexist comments against a woman Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO).
During the Palle Pragathi Grama Sabha in Uppal Village, on Friday, Dayakar Rao reviewed the development works and as a part of it, he asked the locals where their MPDO was and how well she was working in the Mandal. He then passed a very sexist comment against her.
Meanwhile, the video of the Minister’s remarks went viral on social media. Netizens are incensed that it is appropriate to be at the ministerial level and make insulting remarks on a woman officer in front of everyone in the Gram Sabha.
Responding to this controversy, Dayakar Rao condemned the video and said that his rivals were circulating a fake video. He said that some sections are deliberately trying to create sensationalism. He claimed that he has respect for women employees and other officials.
