The couple gave an exclusive interview to the popular American TV show Oprah Winfrey. Meghan Markle opened up about battling suicidal thoughts, and Prince Harry revealed a painful rift with his father in the two-hour CBS spot.
Meghan married Prince Harry and got into a lot of trouble when she entered the British royal family. She was in tears that no one in the family had helped her when she was depressed. She also said that there was false propaganda against her in the family.
At a point in time, Meghan wanted to end her life. She said it was only a few days before the wedding that she realized she had no protection in the royal family. She was emotional that there was a discussion in the royal family about the colour of the baby when she was pregnant, and that those in the family said that her baby Archie would also be born black because Meghan is coloured.
“I knew that if I didn’t say it, that I would do it. And I… just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought,” she said.
Meanwhile, Harry said he wouldn’t have left royal life if not for his Wife. He said their relationship revealed the strictures of royal life.
