Makers of Rang De to follow innovative release model?

It is still unclear if movie theaters will be re-opened anytime soon and that is forcing filmmakers to explore the option of releasing their films on OTT platforms. Nani’s ‘V’ had already released on Amazon Prime and Anushka’s ‘Nishabdham’ will be following a similar path as it will be releasing on October 2nd.

Now, the makers of Nithiin’s Rang De are apparently planning an innovative release model for the film. They are planning to release the film on pay-per-view basis. This would mean that a web portal will be created to stream the film and viewers need to pay a token ticket price to watch the film once. But the makers are yet to speak about this.

Ram Gopal Varma has been extensively using this model for his low-budget films. It would be really interesting to see if the makers of Rang De would take this seemingly bold step.

Previously there were rumors that the makers of Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ were planning a similar model but those turned out to be just baseless speculations.
