Love Today Review: Time Pass Entertainer

The movie, Love Today, directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, which was released in Tamil Nadu on November 4th, has been released in Telugu today. The film features Pradeep and Ivana in the lead roles, and has Satyaraj and Radhika Sarathkumar playing important roles in the film. Producer Dil Raju has brought the film to the Telugu audiences, saying that it would appeal to everyone. Let’s see how the film has turned out.

Story:

The story of Love Today is very simple. It is a love story between two people, who want to get married. However, when the girl’s father asks the couple to exchange their phones for a day, only after which he will agree to their marriage, all hell breaks loose. What happens when the couple exchanges their phones, and whether will they finally get married forms the rest of the story.

On-Screen Performances:

Pradeep Ranganathan, who is not only the director of the film but also the lead actor, really gives the film his very best. He is good in every scene and brings perfectly to life the kind of insecurities and sensibilities that the current generation of men go through in the current generation.

Leading lady Ivana is good enough in her role as well and provides a good performance. Her chemistry with Pradeep is quite good as well.

Satyaraj and Radhika are good in their roles, providing the necessary reality check whenever necessary, and reminding of the ground reality. Yogi Babu is good in his roles as well.

Off-Screen Talents:

Director Pradeep Ranganathan, who also wrote the script, has chosen a very contemporary concept. He has sprinkled it throughout with a wonderful sense of humor and entertaining sequences. However, he could have taken care of the second half and of the overall plot line, as they feel routine and can easily be guessed by the audience.

The background music, provided by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is one of the main highlights of the film. He amplifies the emotion or humour in a particular scene with his music, which greatly adds to the narrative.

The cinematography of the film is on point. The production design is good enough, and so is the editing work.

Verdict: Love Today will greatly resonate with the current generation youth. They will be hugely entertained. However, the film provides limited entertainment, in the sense that it will not appeal to older audiences, which is one of the main drawbacks for the film.
