As Russia sending more troops to Ukraine for shelling cities, India has urged all its citizens to leave the capital of Ukraine urgently, by any means available.
“All Indian nationals including students are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today. Preferably by available trains or through any other means available,” the Indian Embassy in Ukraine tweeted.
As per reports, around 16,000 Indian students are still stuck in Ukraine. Many students have been hiding in underground bunkers, metro stations and bomb shelters since the Russian attack started last Thursday. Around 8,000 Indian citizens have left till now, the foreign ministry said on Monday.
The latest satellite images showed a long convoy of Russian military vehicles consisting of hundreds of tanks, towed artillery, armoured and logistical vehicles approaching northwest of Kyiv.
With thousands of Indians are still stuck in the war-hit country, India is trying to speed up the evacuation process by sending the Indian Air Force planes into Ukraine.
