The situation in Ukraine has turned terrifying after Russia launched a full scale military operation, leaving many soldiers from both sides dead.
Amid the deepening crisis in Ukraine, the Narendra Modi government is now more concerned over the safety of Indians living in Ukraine and it launched Operation Ganga to evacuate the stranded students.
Now, the Centre has called for the Indian Air Force to join the evacuation efforts. The Air Force is likely to deploy several C-17 aircrafts as part of Operation Ganga from today.
During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last evening, the PM said that the Centre is working round the clock to ensure the safety of Indians in Ukraine.
As per reports, there are nearly 2500 Indian students trapped in the war zone, which is facing aerial bombardment from Putin’s forces.
