The Lancet is an international health journal, that keeps publishing about the various health concerns in the world. Like every month, this month, The Lancet covered why India is currently experiencing a devastating second wave of the Coronavirus, and what should be done to avoid a similar situation in the future.
There’s no doubt in the fact that countries around the world are discussing the failure of the various state governments in the country, including the failure of the Central government. There’s also discussion of the same thing within the country as well, but these discussions are not being heard as loudly, due to the fear of serious actions being taken against those discussing these issues, by the ones supporting the government.
India is a country where for every Chief Minister condemning the Prime Minister, there’s another Chief Minister supporting the Prime Minister. There are a lot of contrasting opinions, and there is an abundant community of the people who call themselves supposed nationalists and wellwishers of the country, when, in reality, they are doing more bad than good to the country.
The Lancet is not a political journal but is a purely medical journal, that focuses on the wellbeing of people. It proposed a nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of the virus and to reduce the impact of the second wave. It proposed a lot more solutions to combating the second wave – including being transparent with the people of the nation, on what’s to be done, to curb the spread of the virus. The Lancet also warned that there’s a possibility of 10 Lakh people dying if proper measures were not taken.
However, given that The Lancet is an international journal, the so-called nationalists of the country will thrash the editorial that the journal has published, calling it an international conspiracy against India.
