Lakshmi’s NTR movie review & rating

After several obstacles, RGV’s most anticipated movie Lakshmi’s NTR is finally out into the theaters. So, let us get into the details.

Story:

Right from the day Lakshmi Parvathi entered into NTR’s life till the death of the legendary actor, the incidents that took place in Nandamuri family and the way Chandrababu Naidu influenced the family members for his political benefits, is what the movie mainly focussed upon.

Analysis:

When the controversial subjects like this are being filmed, obviously the makers would believe in making it diplomatic or hide few facts. But much to the shock of many, Ram Gopal Varma, like never before in his biopics, came up with the deadly truths of NTR. He showcased Chandrababu Naidu in utmost negative way and all such scenes have been shot in an extreme raw and intense manner.

The emotional bonding between Lakshmi Parvathi and NTR has been showcased in a lovely way. The maturity in the relationship of the duo has been very convincing. RGV, like he mentioned several times that he would safeguard the dignity of his favorite star in the film, has done his job perfectly. NTR’s dignity and his supreme level of reactions, body language have been captured well.

Especially the last 30 minutes of Lakshmi’s NTR is the major highlight of the film. The way NTR was shot to ground after Viceroy episode and his last night with Lakshmi Parvathi was very emotional. Right after his death, how was Lakshmi Parvathi ignored by the family members was also touching.

However, the film completely exposed Chandrababu Naidu and other family members of Nandamuri in a very bad light, giving them no scope for positivity and Lakshmi Parvathi was showcased as the most dedicated wife of NTR. This might be unconvincing to a few sections of audience, but over all, Lakshmi’s NTR comes out as a good product from RGV, after long time.

Kalyani Malik’s BGM’s have hiked the intensity in many scenes to the next level. Actor Sri Tej as Chandrababu Naidu has done extremely well and Yagna Shetty as Lakshmi Parvathi is convincing. Vijay Kumar as NTR could have been better. Rest other roles are satisfactory.

In most of his earlier biopics like Vangaveeti, Raktha Charitra etc, RGV tried to hide many facts and designed the scenes diplomatically. But he deserves a bow for Lakshmi’s NTR as every scene in the film was extremely bold. One needs to have strong guts to shoot such scenes. So Lakshmi’s NTR can be considered as the most bold attempt.

Rating: 2.75/5

Finally: Lakshmi’s NTR is a feast to the die hard NTR fans and would be convincing to the neutral audience too.
