‘Krishna Gadu Ante Oka Range’ will hit the marquee on August 4. The film is produced by Sri Tejas Productions Pvt Ltd.
Story:
The story is set in a village in Guntur district. Krishna (Rishwi Thimmaraju) is the son of a widowed woman. He falls in love with the village’s most beautiful girl, Satya (Vismaya Sri).
Deva, a lecher, desires to marry Satya by hook or crook. In a tragic turn of events, Krishna’s dream to own a house goes for a toss. Who is the actual villain? How does Krishna tide over the crisis? That’s what the second half is all about.
Performances:
Debutant Rishwi doesn’t get any elevations. In the entire film, barring the climax, he comes across as a secondary character. Sometimes, Vismaya dominates him with her village belle antics. The titular character’s failure to leave any impression on the audience is proof that the writing is lousy. When the writer gave him a stepmotherly treatment, could the actor have performed well? Of course, no. His chemistry with Vismaya, also a newcomer, is a non-starter.
Almost every supporting and negative character is painful to watch. The actor who played Deva is routine. Raghu, Swathi Policherla, Sujatha, Vinay, and Mahadev have played different roles.
Technical Departments:
The music by Sabu Varghese is the only merit worth talking about. Although the first half is over-stuffed with songs, the decent music output makes us overlook the cramming. The lyrics from Varikuppala Yadagiri are sensible. SK Rafi’s cinematography is extremely dull.
Producers Petla Krishna Murthy, Petla Venkata Subbamma, and PNK Sreelatha seem to have made the film with compromises. Nowadays, even village-based movies are expected to offer something special on the technical front. ‘Pareshan’ and ‘Mem Famous’ were rural movies. Yet, the small-town vibes were brought out well.
Plus Points:
Minus Points:
Verdict: This film is a thorough disappointment. There is ‘range’ only in the title. The sense of esteem in the title is lacking in the film.
