Kollywood actress Oviya Helen has landed in legal trouble for allegedly disrespecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Tamil Nadu.
The actress tweeted with the hashtag #GoBackModi on Sunday when the Modi visited the state to launch several developmental projects.
D Alexis Sudhakar, the state secretary of Tamil Nadu BJP, stated in the petition that the police should inquire if Helen’s tweet was to provoke public disorder and take relevant action against her.
The BJP demanded the actress to apologise for her tweet. A case has been registered against her under section 69 A of IT Act r/w 124 A, 153 A, 294 of the IPC. Her tweet on Sunday has so far garnered 19.9K retweets and 58.7K likes.
