Kinnerasani, featuring Kalyaan Dhev in the lead role, was supposed to be released in theatres but has been released directly on Zee 5 streaming platform today. Here’s a look at how the film is.
Story:
The story of Kinnerasani revolves around Veda, Venkat, and Jayadev. Veda comes across a book that perfectly describes her childhood, and is shocked to find out that the writer of the book, Jayadev, knows pin to pin of what happened in her life. She meets criminal lawyer Venkat (Kalyaan Dhev), who wants to avenge the death of his lover. Who is Jayadev, how does he know about Veda’s childhood, will Venkat avenge his lover’s death or not, and how do Venkat and Veda’s storylines meet up, forms the rest of the story.
On-Screen Performances:
All the actors have performed commendably, in the roles that they have been given Kalyaan Dhev and Ann Sheetal have carried out their roles with good conviction, and Ravindra Vijay is perfect in the role he has been given. The combination scenes between Vijay and Sheetal are especially interesting to watch, and so is their dynamic. Kalyan and Sheetal share a good chemistry on the screen as well.
Off-Screen Talents:
The production values are decent, but the camera work is excellent. The background score of the movie, provided by Mahati Swara Sagar, elevates the scenes, especially the key scenes, providing an edge to them.
Director Ramana Teja took the film on a good path but could have made the film much more engaging, especially in the first half, as the film really picks up pace in the second half. Writer Sai Teja Deshraj too, while having penned good dialogues and a wonderful story, could have made the screenplay much more crisp, especially in the first half.
The editing is good but could have been much better in a few places, as the scenes feel like they’re dragging on.
Positive Points:
Negative Points
Verdict:
On the whole, while Kinnerasani has a good story and good actors. The film could have been crisper. Had the film been released in the theatres, it would have done rarely well, but taking the OTT route has definitely increased the visibility of the film. Kinnerasani is a good watch but doesn’t hold much re-watch value.
