The minute that Telangana Chief Minister KCR announced the Dalit Bandhu scheme, one of the most prominent questions that came up in everyone’s mind is if the scheme is actually affordable to the government or not.
According to sources, the Dalit Bandhu scheme is a lot cheaper for the government, than its previous scheme of distributing 3-acres land to farmers for agriculture. This is reportedly a very considerable and profitable affair for the government, as the government would have a lot of impact if it transferred Rs. 10 Lakhs into bank accounts directly, than by distributing 3-acres lands.
The TRS government was in a lot of trouble when it was distributing these langs, as it eventually ran out of available cultivable land, and purchasing private lands was a very costly affair. On top of that, the agriculture costs also touched the sky, increasing the burden for the government, which is why the scheme was stopped within two years of its introduction. With the Dalit Bandhu scheme though, the government is able to create a lot more impact, which would be very useful during elections.
