Telangana Chief Minister KCR introduced a grand scheme in the form of Dalit Bandhu, ahead of the Huzurabad bypolls, to gain the votes of the Dalit community, which is in majority in Huzurabad. He even released Rs. 2000 Crores to distribute to 20,000 Dalit families in the area. However, despite releasing the amount into the bank accounts of these Dalit families, they haven’t been able to use it so far, as the bank is said to be denying handing over the money to them as they haven’t given them a proper business plan.
Today, on the occasion of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s death anniversary, it looks as though KCR has unintentionally invited the wrath of the Dalit community, which is already unhappy with KCR. When the Chief ministers of all other states, and even the Prime Minister and the President of the country gave their respects to Ambedkar today, KCR didn’t do anything about it.
KCR has never known to adorn any of Ambedkar’s statues with garlands or give any special respects to Ambedkar after he became the CM. The first time that KCR was seen doing such a thing was during the lead up to the Huzurabad by-polls. Given this, the Dalit community is said to be highly upset with KCR for giving a side-eye to the community and to Ambedkar, now that their necessity is no longer existant.
