The heavy rains in the state for the last 3-4 days have resulted in heavy floods all over the state, and have resulted in great losses in some districts. Warangal district has been affected the most because of this, with many losing their livelihoods and other things.
Speaking about the same, Chief Minister KCR said that the main reason for such discomfort is because the leaders of United Andhra Pradesh never bothered about introducing proper flood management control systems in Telangana , and only limited all those resources to places of Andhra Pradesh.
Looking closer, it is quite evident that KCR had enough time to survey all these loopholes and flaws in the state over the time period of the last 6 years. He has been giving credit to himself and the TRS for bringing about the state. Then how is it that he forgot to look at a highly important detail such as Flood management? It is even more pathetic and reckless of him to rub this inefficiency on the rulers of United Andhra Pradesh, when he had 6 years of time himself.
The people of Warangal, on the other hand, believe that the main reason for floods hitting them this badly is because the government closed all canals and built colonies on them, because of which the flood water had no place to store it.
Apart from that, KCR has said that ‘Flood Management of Telangana’ would now be formed , where the team would be dedicated to controlling the disastrous outcomes of a flood, and be responsible for managing any sort of flood that arises in the state from here on.
This Flood Management of Telangana team would also be looking at how much rainfall a particular area would receive in a particular year, what parts of the area would it adversely affect, which river has the chances to overflow and flood the state, etc. It would also examine low-lying areas and the areas which have the maximum possibility for water to get onto the roads.
The government is also planning to make sure that the Police Department and Municipality would be ready to form a Task force and help out the people in need during a heavy flood in the state.
