A Karnataka farmer has found a unique solution to save his Coffee and Areca crop from the menace of monkeys.
Earlier, Srikanth Gowda used to place the tiger toys in his fields to scare monkeys. Though the idea worked well for a few days, as the days passed the color of toys used to fade thus making the monkeys reenter the field and destroy the crops.
The intelligent farmer then came up with a fresh solution. He painted his dog so that it resembles like a tiger and took it to his field. The idea worked well as the monkeys ran away from the field at the mere sight of the dog resembling tiger. Inspired over it the farmers nearby followed the same and thus came out of the menace of monkeys quite early.

Srikanth Gowda is a resident of Naluru village in Shivamogga district’s Thirthahalli Taluk. Explaining about his idea, he said that he takes his dog Bulbul twice a day – once in the morning and in the evening. “I have seen the monkeys run away at the sight of the dog resembling tiger. The monkeys now refrain from entering my plantations,” he said.
