Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is a new sensation in the Kannada film industry. Released on 30th September with less expectations, the action thriller film wowed the audience across the world and has kept the cash registers ringing at the box office.
As per the latest reports, Kantara has breached 200cr gross worldwide and is just a few crores away from breaking KGF-1 (all versions) lifetime gross of 230 Cr. Not only this, but the movie seems to be confident to surpass the KGF-2 Kannada version gross in Karnataka.
Kantara collected Rs 117 Cr from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also witnessed good footfalls for this movie. So far, Rs 29.8 Cr has been recorded from Telugu states. Tamil Nadu accounted for Rs 3.3 Cr while Kerala 3 Cr and overall North India’s collection is Rs 29 Cr. The movie made a whopping 18.20 Cr ($2.21 M) from overseas. It is expected that the movie will collect more this week as there are no big releases lined up for this weekend.
