“Kalki 2898 AD,” a highly anticipated Telugu film starring Rebel Star Prabhas, directed by Nag Ashwin, is facing uncertainty regarding its release date. Initially set for May 9, 2024, concerns arose due to simultaneous AP elections.
While discussions hinted at a May 30 release to avoid political distractions, some distributors prefer sticking to May 9, citing the summer holiday advantage. The makers are adamant about a May release to avoid clashing with later releases and Hindi films.
However, they are evaluating all alternatives while in continuous to negotiations with stakeholders such as Prabhas, producers, and exhibitors. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, while the music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Finally, the selection depends on finding a balance between increasing audience turnout and avoiding potential disturbances from external activities.
