Viraj Ashwin, the leading man of the successful film Baby, has now come up with Joruga Husharuga. The film’s trailer managed to create a decent interest among audiences, and let’s see how the film has turned out to be upon release.

Story:

Santosh and Nitya’s love story takes a turn when Nitya joins Santosh’s office, as Santosh’s boss Anand starts to fall in love with her. In the meantime, Santosh’s father is waiting for Santosh to pay back their 20 Lakhs debt. All of this results in different circumstances, all of which need to be handled by Santosh. What happens in the end forms the rest of the story.

On-Screen Performances:

Viraj Ashwin carries the film completely. He has come a long way as an actor, and it can be seen clearly in this movie. His expressions have gotten better, and he is a lot more believable in his character. However, it is not a character that we have not seen him in before, so there’s nothing new that he got to do in this movie.

Siri Hanumanth and Poojitha Ponnada are decent in their roles but do not have a lot to do with the narrative of the film.

The remaining supporting cast, including Sai Kumar, Rohini, Madhunandan, and others, are all good enough in their roles.

Off-Screen Talents:

It feels as though the director of the film lost track of what he wanted to tell in terms of story halfway through the film, where a lot of elements come into play. Joruga Husharuga feels like two completely different films sometimes, with a rom-com emotion taking dominance for some time while a father sentiment film takes dominance for some other time. With two different genres being shown in the film, the film feels disjointed most of the time, and because of this, the audiences fail to connect with the film emotionally. Apart from that, the screenplay of the film is all over the place, with no proper establishment for any of the emotions depicted in the film. Had this been done, the film would have ended up feeling better for the audience.

The cinematography of the film is one of the major highlights, while the background score is alright. Meanwhile, the songs are barely worth remembering. The production values are decent, but the editing could have been better.

Verdict: Joruga Husharuga had some great emotions working in its favor, which, however, don’t. It is a mixed bag that doesn’t fit into any bracket and can be skipped.
