The governments of many states like Orissa, Kerala, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, etc., have declared all the journalists of the state as coronavirus warriors. Pressure is now mounting on Jagan Mohan Reddy, to declare the journalists of Andhra Pradesh as Covid warriors as well, with TDP Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad demanding and writing a letter to the Cheif Minister, about the same.
He demanded that all working journalists in the state be given accreditations, and be provided with vaccines and medical facilities to survive the threat of Coronavirus while doing their job tirelessly.
Ever since the YSRCP government came to power in 2019, the procedure for accreditation has become tough, and over 60 journalists have lost their lives while doing their job, during the second wave alone. The families of hundreds of other journalists have been admitted to hospitals due to the virus, and are now unable to pay the extensive hospital bills.
TDP Repalle MLA Anagani Satya Prasad also demanded the government give Rs. 2 Lakhs as financial support to all those journalist families that have been affected by a coronavirus, and Rs. 20,000 financial assistance to every journalist family in the state, so that they can battle the virus.
