Jagan to shift camp office to Visakhapatnam on May 6th?

For a long time now, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been trying to shift his base to Visakhapatnam, from where he wished to operate. However, the courts have raised objection to this a long time ago, as the CM shifting his base to Visakhapatnam would directly or indirectly mean that the city would become the executive capital.

Several times previously, the Chief Minister had to take a back seat, regarding shifting to Visakhapatnam, because of court rulings. However, sources now say that he’s quite firm on his decision, and has instructed the concerned officials to make the necessary arrangements. The muhurtam for the shifting has also been finalised. Jagan is said to have consulted with Visakha Sarada Peetham’s Swami Swaroopanandendra, who fixed May 6th as the ideal date for shifting.

Jagan is said to have told the concerned officials that there is no rule that the CM has to work from the capital and that the CM can work from wherever in the state he wants to work from. He is also said to have told the officials that he is going to shift this time and that there would not be any more delays. Jagan is said to have told the officials that the secretariat can be in Amaravati for as long as the courts – Supreme or High Court – take their time in coming to a decision.

Apart from that, Jagan is said to have instructed that everyone has to work from Visakhapatnam and that no one has to operate from the Secretariat in Amaravati, after May 6th. Jagan has reportedly warned the concerned officials of taking proper care of the shifting and making sure that no official face any problem after shifting.
