Jagan stalls all major govt. projects

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked to stall various government projects, citing financial issues.

In this regard, Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam issued notes to all the departments. All the projects will be reviewed discussing them with the experts and only then, the government is going to decide which projects to continue and which to cancel completely.

The projects that were approved before April 1st but are yet to be started will stand cancelled for now. A few projects will have new tenders via Reverse Tendering Process if necessary. The works that registered less than 25% progress will be reviewed.

The government told all the departments not to make any payments, until further instructions. YSRCP government is currently giving first priority to pensions and that was the reason for Jagan to make his first signature as CM on the same. So, regarding this, the government is trying to mobilize the funds, by cutting down other expenses.

Increasing pensions is one among nine navaratnas, Jagan promised during the elections, which is going to be implemented from this June itself. He is yet to keep up several promises he made in the manifesto, for which the funds are to be pooled. So the government is planning well, so that no rupee goes side way. The future strategy of the government, in implementing other promises, is expected to be out when the government puts up a budget towards the end of June.
