The burning of Antarvedi’s Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple’s Chariot has become a hot topic all over the country, especially in the state of Andhra Pradesh, as the Chariot is a historical one, and has been used for Rathotsavams for over 60 years now.
Many have been speculating that there is a huge conspiracy behind the burning of this chariot, and have even said that this is a direct act against the Hindu religion. Opposition leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and several others have also said that this has happened because of Jagan government’s recklessness towards the Hindu religion.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has now ordered for a CBI probe into the matter, and has written a letter to the DGP office about the same. The DGP office has in turn written a letter to the Union Home Ministry, requesting for a CBI probe into the matter.
Several BJP leaders have also participated in protests, following which they were house arrested by the local police. The Andhra Pradesh government has also allotted a total of Rs. 95 Lakhs for the making of a new Chariot for the temple, which is expected to be completed by February.
It is expected that the official orders for a CBI probe will be given by tomorrow. The 40 feet Chariot was burnt under mysterious circumstances last Saturday, after midnight.
