Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy told that the development should not be confined to one area in the state and justified his proposal of three capitals for the state. Jagan stood hard on his decision until the bill passed in the Assembly yesterday.
The heat of yesterday’s cabinet sessions reached the assembly in Amaravati and especially the Amaravati farmers are too furious on the bill that was passed. The people in Rayalaseema are much happier among the rest as they can find the judicial capital of the state in their region eventually.
But Jagan Mohan Reddy missed the trick as some of the coastal districts are extremely dissatisfied with his decision. The people from Krishna, Guntur and Godavari Districts including Srikakulam voted Jagan in the assembly elections after he promised them that Amaravati would be continued as the AP Capital.
Now, Jagan’s latest decision came as much to their shock and the decentralization is not going to do any good for them. They are the people who came on to the streets opposing this three-capital decision.
Jagan is often referred to as a monarch for his stand on this issue by the people of the coastal areas. This population is comprised of 20% of the voters in the state and almost all of them turned against Jagan Mohan Reddy at the present.
