Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to attend NITI Aayog national level meeting in Delhi on 15th of this month. During the meeting, the officials will be discussing about the Centre-State relations. AP CM Jagan is expected to take up the special category status issue at the meeting.
The Chief Ministers of the various states across the country who are participating in the meeting can raise any issue of their choice, with NITI Aayog Chairman’s permission. However, according to Amitabh Kant, its CEO, the meeting will primarily focus on agriculture, drought conditions, irrigation and other related issues.
BJP had to face a miserable defeat in AP, though it was able to witness a thumping victory in rest other states. As the national party was unable to keep up the promise of giving special status to AP, it was unable to bag even a single Lok Sabha seat from the state.
Apart from special status, AP is also facing a severe scarcity of financial resources. So Jagan is also responsible to bring maximum Central funds under different programs. So it should be seen, how far the new Chief Minister of the state, will be able to convince the Centre on various issues.
