The YSRCP is currently overrun with internal groups so badly that every region seems to have its own group and these groups are constantly at war. At a time when they should all brace for the 2024 elections and put up a united front, things could not be more polarizing for the party. The Rayalaseema and Palnadu regions have already become infamous for their groupisms, and now, it’s the turn of the North Andhra region.
YSRCP leaders from Tekkali constituency of the Srikakulam district, Duvvada Srinivas and Perada Tilak are not able to stand each other, at a time when the party needs them to be untied, in order to reduce the influence of TDP MLA and party AP unit president Atchen Naidu. AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy greatly promoted both of them for this one reason, by making Duvvada an MLC, and Perada the chairperson of the Kalinga corporation.
Both the groups held separate meetings in Tekkali recently, where the anti-Duvvada group said that he should be removed from the post of the contingency in charge, while the anti-Perada group said that Perada was in cahoots with Atchennaidu. On the whole, though, Duvvada and Perada are causing more problems for their party, and making things a lot worse in their region.
