It is nowhere mentioned in the Union budget about Metro rails in AP: Butchaiah Chowdary

Criticism has started in the wake of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introducing the Union Budget-2021 in Parliament.

DP senior leader and former minister Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary has criticized that there are no Metro rail allocations in the Union Budget for AP.

It was revealed that nowhere it is mentioned in the Union budget about the allocations for metro rail.

Allocations have been made for the development of Kerala, Chennai, Nagpur, and Bangalore metros, but only for the second phase.

Butchayya Choudhary said that Rs 63,246 crore has been allocated for the Chennai Metro rail system and Rs 14,788 crore for the Bangalore Metro rail system, along with the construction of a new corridor in Nashik.

But, Butchaiah Chowdary was of the view that it was atrocious for Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman not to mention the Metro train project in Andhra Pradesh.
