Is Andhra Pradesh inching towards a disaster?

The state of Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a sudden surge in the number of Coronavirus cases, with easily 3000 to 4000 cases being reported on a daily basis. As the situation only continues to get worse, speculations on the reopening of schools in the state are going on.

On the 15th of this month, the Central Government held a video conference with all the states to discuss the sanitization and maintenance of all educational institutions in the country. At the same time, the Central Government also requested the state governments to give them a tentative date for the reopening of all these educational institutions, especially schools, in the country.

The central government also ordered the states to inform them through a letter if any changes have been made to what had been discussed during the video conference. States like Bihar and Delhi have announced that they would be reopening the schools in their states in August.

The government of Andhra Pradesh too had announced the same thing a few days ago, that it would reopen schools on August 3rd. However, taking the current situation into consideration, the government is said to be planning to reopen schools from September 5th.

Many experts have been saying that the situation of Coronavirus in the country would get even worse by September, with more cases being registered in the country. If the government of Andhra Pradesh will go ahead with reopening all schools in September, it will be a huge disaster, proving to be more fateful than the current situation.

On the other hand, the government of Telangana and Tamil Nadu have not come to a decision about when to reopen their schools yet.
