Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, it was found that several techies were working for multiple companies without disclosing it to their employers. The moonlighting issue rocked the IT services industry when a top company like Wipro sacked hundreds of employees for simultaneously working for their competitor companies.
Amid this backdrop, Infosys has now allowed its employees to take up ‘gig’ jobs with prior approval from managers. However, the company has revealed that under no circumstances the gig job should compete with Infosys and should not compromise the interests of its clients. As per reports, an internal communication sent to employees explained how ‘gig work’ can be done. It is expected that this decision of the company may reduce the migration of employees to other companies.
