While every country is very desperate for the COVID vaccine, the Indian government has refused the vaccine which is deemed as the first one to get approved with maximum efficacy.
It is known that the UK government has brought in the Pfizer vaccine to prevent the corona epidemic. The vaccine is already approved for use in the United States and several other countries, including Britain. However, the vaccine manufacturers are facing a backlash in India.
It seems that the central government has decided not to allow the use of this vaccine. Government sources said that the high price of the Pfizer vaccine is the main reason and the another prominent reason is that the vaccine had to be stored at a temperature of minus 70 to 90 degrees.
In addition to the high cost of the vaccine, analysts believe that having to store the Pfizer vaccine at minus 70-90 degrees Celsius would also be counterproductive. Pharma sources also said that the central government would be reluctant to buy the Pfizer vaccine in the light of distribution costs.
The Pfizer vaccine is currently being used in the UK, Bahrain and Canada, and has been approved by the US FDA and will be available to the public from today. Manufacturers use cold storages for vaccine storage in the US and supplies itself to various states.
Such a situation does not exist in India. Although the Mumbai airport has arranged a cargo for the vaccine to be stored, moving it to other locations is very complex process.
