India has reported its lowest daily rise in new Covid-19 cases in at least 54 days (since April 8). The country has recorded 127,510 cases over the past 24 hours, while deaths raised by 2,795. The total death toll due to the virus stands at 3,31,895.
According to the Union health ministry, the active cases have dropped below 20 lakh after 43 days. Not only daily Covid-19 cases, but the country also saw its lowest number of deaths in five weeks. There are 18,95,520 active cases in the country.
The ministry on Tuesday morning reported that a total of 2,59,47,629 recoveries reported across India so far after 2,55,287 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 34,67,92,257 samples for Coronavirus have been tested up to May 31. Of which 19,25,374 samples were tested yesterday.
