Team India has shown a complete dominance on the visitors on Day 3 of the Second Test at Chennai. While fans expected big innings from players like Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Rahane, it was Ravichandran Ashwin who became a nightmare for the England blowers on the third day at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
After taking a five-wicket haul in the first innings, Ashwin slammed a brilliant century with his bat in the second innings and made a big contribution to the team in scoring a decent 286. This is his fifth Test century and indeed a memorable one as getting appreciation from the team at the home ground.
Ending their second innings at 286, the hosts have a put massive target of 482 runs in front of England. Batting to win the second test, the visitors had lost three quick wickets on Day 3 and made their chase a difficult one for the fourth day.
Daniel Lawrence and Joe Root stood in the crease for the fourth day while their teammates Rory Burns, Dominic Sibley and Jack Leach departed early. Axar Patel pocketed two wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin bagged one.
