Ahead of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, the Income Tax department on Friday conducted searches on DMK chief M K Stalin’s daughter’s residence in Chennai.
Of the 8 locations where searches have begun this morning, four in the city are bound to DMK chief’s daughter Senthamarai and son-in-law Sabareesan. The officials searched the houses in Teynampet and Neelangarai and along with two others after receiving inputs from the department.
The tax raids were also carried out on the premises of Karthick, son of DMK candidate M K. Mohan, who is contesting from the Anna Nagar constituency.
This is the second time that the raids against DMK leaders happened ahead of the assembly election on 6 April in Tamil Nadu. As of now, no documents or money has been caught by the officials. Meanwhile, the party leaders condemned the searches.
