With the news that not even a single Rs.2000 note was printed by RBI in this fiscal year, new doubts got raised in the people that the government is planning to release Rs.1000 notes and ban Rs.2000 notes.
Immediately few Rs.1000 notes appeared in the social media and the internet, which intensified the thought of the people. Finally, it has been clarified that the government didn’t release any Rs.1000 note and released it to the market. All the notes that were appearing with Rs.1000 on it, in the internet were fake.
People should note that if someone offers Rs.1000 note saying it is in circulation, one should consider it to be a fake note. Rs.2000 notes account to 3.3 percent of the total currency in circulation and is the highest denomination note in the market followed by Rs.500. The old notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 were not in usage and were banned couple of years back.
