Covid-19 is destroying the countries all over the world and few European Nations already lost control over the situation. In India, the numbers were under control and the Government’s quick action is the main reason. Due to lack of the number of testing kits and the high expense of imported kits, India was not able to perform the testing on large scale.
India recorded lowest testing rate and few people commented that this low testing rate is the main reason for low numbers. Reports mention that India tested 1.27 lakh samples till date and the country’s population is over 130 Crores.
As Indian firms started manufacturing testing kits at affordable prices, Indian Government decided to change the testing strategy. Till now, only the ones who returned from abroad, their relatives and the people they came in contact were tested for Corona Virus. Now, ICMR (Indian Council for Medical Research) decided to test all the people in the hotspot regions who show significant symptoms for seven consecutive days.
Indian Government is further asking people to identify their symptoms and come to the centres for checkup.
