Exclusive Interview: I want to work with all Star Heroes – Chandini Chowdary

Gorgeous actress Chandini Chowdary, most known for works in Manu and Samanthakamani, is creating all the buzz right now, with her upcoming release Colour Photo. Here’s what she had to say about her latest movie, and so much more.

What do you think is the main reason for Colour Photo creating instant buzz?

Colour Photo is a film that excels in all aspects, including cinematography, music, story, direction, performances and everything else. I think that’s why the film is creating so much buzz, because people encourage good content.

Why is the name of the film Colour Photo exactly?

You’ll be able to understand the reason if you watch the teasers of the film. The movie is very closely related to the title, which is why it is named as Colour Photo.

Suhas is mostly prominent as a comedian but is being introduced as a lead actor in this film. How did you feel when you knew that you’d be paired opposite Suhas, and why did you accept it?

The most important thing for me is the script, and then it comes to how the director is executing the script. I loved the story very much, and I think the director kept very true to his script while executing the film. Coming to Suhas, I think he’s extraordinary in whatever he does, and I think he was the perfect choice for this film. That’s why I accepted the film.

What do you think that the audience can expect from this film?

We focus mostly on the importance of treating people of all colours as the same – we are trying to break the taboo of colour discrimination through this film. That being the focal point of this film, and that being a major topic of discussion right now, I think it’s going to hit the right notes with people. Also, we are tackling the issue with a 90s backdrop, and how a girl faces this issue by standing against it, how her thinking is different from other girls of her generation, and so many other aspects are also covered from a girl’s perspective.

You must have shot for the movie thinking it would release in theatres, but because of the current situation, the movie is releasing on an OTT platform. What are your thoughts on that?

The movie was supposed to release in theatres in May, but because the situation of Coronavirus is not getting any better, we thought that it’s not right to let the movie sit in a corner for a long time, given its amazing subject. That’s why we chose to go ahead with OTT release, and Aha is also greatly promoting all of its content, and has a wide reach among audiences.I think that this is a great opportunity for the movie to reach to more number of audiences, and I’m sure that all audiences will own it because the content of the movie is definitely top class.

All the movies that have released on OTT so far have not gained really good reviews, which has established a notion for everyone that a movie might not be good if it turns up on an OTT platform. Do you think this would affect Colour Photo?

No, I don’t think so. I actually think that Colour Photo will change that.

Has everyone approached you to do any bold character for a web series, or asked you to indulge in skin show?

No, no one has approached me for skin show yet. However, I think that bold characters and skin show depend upon a person’s personal preference – they’ll do it if they want to. So far, I have not been asked for anything like that, and people have liked whatever work I’ve done so far.

What are your upcoming films?

I am currently shooting for one of my upcoming films, but sadly I can’t divulge any details because this is a surprise project, and I have been asked to stay totally mum about it. I will definitely tell more details about it whenever I can. Other than this, I have also worked for a film called Gaami, with Vishwak Sen. Gaami is also a highly interesting project, I think everyone will love it. I also have 2 more projects in line.

What kind of appreciation do you think you will get when Colour Photo releases?

I am not currently thinking about that because I do not want to get carried away by thinking that I will be appreciated for what I have done. I just trust that I have done a great film, and I think that’s enough for me.I just hope that the audiences will love the film as much as they have loved all the teasers. Another thing is that, sometimes we can’t expect the result of a film no matter how good it is. Take for example Manu – a film that I worked in – it didn’t perform that well commercially, but it has now gained a cult following, and I have gotten a special recognition because of that film.

Who is the one star hero that you would really love to work with?

I would love to work with all of them because all of them are brilliant actors. I don’t want to limit myself.

What is your most favorite film from the ones that released recently?

I really loved Matthu Vadalara

Have you ever looked at one actress and thought that you should be able to perform like her?

No, I’ve never thought that way, because I want to create my own image and place in the industry. Other than that, I think Meryl Streep’s approach towards acting is the most inspiring.
