Prabhas’s big budget action fantasy film, Kalki 2898 AD is in the filming phase now and it is one of the most anticipated films in the pan-Indian space. The film is touted to be one of the costliest ever projects in the history of Indian cinema.
The producer of the film, Ashwini Dutt is reportedly quoting a whopping Rs 160 crore for the Telugu states theatrical rights of Kalki 2898 which is a huge number and an unprecedented one for a non-Rajamouli film.
Earlier, Salaar made Rs 150 crores in the Telugu states and going by the number quoted by Ashwini Dutt for Kalki, the film needs to fare much better than Salaar just to enter the safe zone.
Considering the market which has been unstable, the number quoted by Kalki producer is a huge one and it has to be seen if the film can make it through safely. But first, will buyers be ready to pay such a hefty amount?
